Hurray! I finished another bag. I'm glad that she liked it a lot.
It took me a week to finish this bag, as I wasn't crocheting full time and I am such a slow crocheter. I made the stitches tight so the bag will be firm and would be able to stand on its own even when empty.

I got the pattern from a Japanese crochet book. It's just a simple pattern, a flat circle bottom and single crochet for the body. I played with the colors of the body so it won't be too boring.

Except for the colors and size, the bag is exactly the same as the purple handbag I made for myself. It was actually the project that made me accept made-to-order bags. When I posted this picture on Facebook, friends started to place their orders and I have been busy since then. There was a time when I had to turn down a bulk order just because I wouldn't be able to meet the deadline and my hands were already complaining.

I had a hard time choosing the colors for the bag because I didn't want it to look like my handbag. I am very partial to purple and yellow colors so using those colors on items for my personal use is kinda given. But for a client, I didn't think she would have liked it. After some mix and match, I thought that deep purple, teal and brown look good together. Yeah..yeah.. I just had to include purple...

Here are more pictures of the details of the bag. Just click on it for larger photo.

The client liked it so much, I am one happy hooker. :D Happy hooking everyone!
